Happiness Project (Day 5)

Day 5

I fell in love with the wild waters

For a sweet escape, I went to a very special place.

Beforehand, I was too depressed. I am having an internal crisis. I didn't think it was possible for me. I was always happy. Always high. This weekend was not for me. I fell. My life was a wreck.

Who could have thought that the waves will wash away everything? It was definitely a sweet escape. I fell in love with the wild waters. and that love. that love is perfect.

A beautiful sunset

Happiness Project (Day 4)

The RAIN

I was friggin' cold yesterday. So I called in sick and skipped work. Luckily, or unluckily, for me... the meeting was cancelled. Anyway, I was compelled to stay at the bed for hours to end. Then I really had to go eat.

I asked ate amor to buy me chicken... tatay taught me how to cook arroz caldo.

the photo above is too ambitious.. mine looks a little like this....

and the rain... it suppressed all of my depressions that day.

Happiness Project (Day 3)

Day 3

Finding yourself a new motto

Don't Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

My Happiness Project (Day 1)

Day 1
Appreciate a new music

RESHMONU’S THE WAY IT MAKES YOU MOVE

It’s actually 3 AM and I am still enjoying the sound of this new high. It makes me happy because it makes me want to dance…even in the wee hours of the night.

"I like the way it makes you move… the way it makes you move…the way ot makes you move."

It’s on replay, baby.

My Happiness Project

Today, I commit to look back at the little things that makes me happy.
This is my own happiness project.
As much as possible, I want to savor every piece of beautiful memory.
For 365 days, my blog will house life's simple pleasures like a beautiful song, a walk with your loved one, the drizzle of the cold rain, an ice cream shared with your dad... those kind of things.
Life could be too short.

Minsan Parang Tanga Lang

(This blogpost is written in Tagalog for my intention of honoring and loving my own language even for just a short while.)

MINSAN PARANG TANGA LANG - Dello of Fliptop
video courtesy of Youtube's DelloFansClub

FLIPTOP - First Filipino Rap Battle League.

A scene from the movie 8 mile. Audience cheering for rap battle.

Kaso medyo nakaka-off yung puro lang kabastusan at mura (no offense, Batas).

The reason why we are changing our primary photos on Facebook

am ultimately sensitive of the issue of this blog post. I had to think twice before actually posting this.

Change your facebook profile picture to a cartoon from your childhood andinvite your friends to do the same. Until monday (December 6) there should be no human faces on faceb
ook, but an invasion of memories! This is for a campaign against violence on children.
The last count of child abuse cases in the Philippines was 4,456 on year 2007. Can you imagine four thousand four hundred and fifty six children b
eaten to death, harassed, maltreated, neglected and/or threatened beyond sanity?
SEVENTY SEVEN (77%) PERCENT of child abuse cases are rooted under sexual abuse.

Just so you know, there are four main categories of child abuse:
  • Neglect - Neglect happens when the responsible parent or guardian fails of his duty to provide the child the primary needs for living like shelter, clothing, food, and hygiene. A neglected child usually has these indicators: dirty skin, offensive body odor, malnourished body, tattered or over-sized clothing, and is frequently unsupervised.
  • Physical Abuse - As the video suggests, a real child does not bounce back, physically abused children suffer severe aggression and injury from their own parents or guardians. It can involve kicking, slapping, punching, and its worst case, strangling and killing.
  • Emotional Abuse - Emotional abuse could be defined as name calling, ridicule, degradation, and destruction of personal belongings of an adult to a child. There is a much wide range of variety categorized under emotional abuse. Thus, making it very difficult to box.
  • Child Sexual Abuse - This is a form of child abuse wherein an adult utilizes a child for his/her sexual pleasure. It could involve pressuring a child into a sexual activity, touching a child's genitals, indecent exposure, and forcing a child to view pornography. Below is a video of child sexual abuse courtesy of Prithvi Ministries Activities.

I, too, have been maltreated in a way I don't ever want to disclose. At whatever cost, I will fight against child abuse and seek justice to all that is concerned. This is my crusade.

One more thing, the victim almost always becomes the perpetrator. To all parents out there, adults, and guardians, please realize that the child you have is the parent of tomorrow. Whatever example set upon him will be exemplified and executed to his future children and the children of his children. Trust me, I should know.
